Superlab Cloud Experiment Error

I published several online experiments yesterday and they worked fine during pilot testing. Today, none of the Experiment IDs worked. I deleted and republished the experiments, but they still won’t run. I keep getting error messages about the experiment files not being available.

One experiment ID is 18916535… please advise.

Hello, we pulled the experiment using its ID. Task Player is failing due to unusually long file paths in the .zip file that it downloads. Here’s an example:

  • C:\Users\ematsak\AppData\Roaming\Cedrus\Task Player 6\cloud\10000565.tar.gz\CAP Study_Task2a_Q1_Physical\experiment\Experiment_Files\SuperlabFiles_CanadianAccentPerception (Part 3-Task 2a)\Superlab_Part3_Task2a_Screens_Experiment\Task2a_Q1_Physical

The path consists of the original path on your own computer plus what SuperLab has appended to it when it published the task.

This is an issue for us to fix – sorry about that. Meanwhile, please use a shorter file path, e.g. by having less folders embedded within other folders and perhaps shorter folder name if possible.

Hi Hisham,

Thanks for the prompt response. I’ll keep this issue in mind going forward.
