Randomize events

Hi, I’m trying to write a sound experiment and i need to randomize some events.

Stimulus list
8 long sounds (20")
28 couples of short sounds (AB - 3" each one)
4 reverse couples of short sounds (BA - 3" each one)
4 same sounds (AA/BB - 3" each one)

I want to script the experiment as it must show 2 random long sounds, let the subject evaluate them with 3 semantic differentials answers, then show 9 couples (randomizing AB, BA, AA/BB), letting them evaluate every couple for preference, then presenting other 2 long sound evaluation and so on. Can you help me?

Exp flow

  • long sound 1
    sem_diff_1
    sem_diff_2
    sem_diff_3
  • long sound 2
    sem_diff_1
    sem_diff_2
    sem_diff_3
  • couple sound 1
    preference
  • couple sound 2
    preference
  • couple sound 3
    preference
  • couple sound 4
    preference
  • couple sound 5
    preference
  • couple sound 6
    preference
  • couple sound 7
    preference
  • couple sound 8
    preference
  • couple sound 9
    preference
  • long sound 3
    sem_diff_1
    sem_diff_2
    sem_diff_3
  • long sound 4
    sem_diff_1
    sem_diff_2
    sem_diff_3

and so on… Thanks all!

Thank you for ordering SuperLab recently. If I understand your requirements correctly, the experiment should be easily doable. If you haven’t already, please spend the 20-25 minutes that it takes to go through the tutorial chapter in the manual and try to set something up. We’ll then gladly schedule time to use screen sharing and help you to the finish line.

Problem solved. Thanks a lot!
