M-Pod Not Detected After Attempted Firmware Update

I’m reaching out regarding an issue with my Cedrus StimTracker Quad and associated M-Pod for Neuroscan Devices.

I recently performed a firmware update on the StimTracker using Xidon. The StimTracker firmware has now been successfully updated and is recognized normally in Xidon.

However, I am encountering the following issue with the M-Pod:

  • When the M-Pod is connected to the StimTracker, the bar LED flashes, but the triangle LED remains off

  • The M-Pod is not detected in Xidon

  • Because it is not detected, I am unable to update or reinstall M-Pod firmware

  • This behavior occurs even when the M-Pod is not connected to external equipment (e.g., SynAmps RT)

Troubleshooting steps already attempted:

  • Power cycling all devices (StimTracker and M-Pod)

  • Connecting the M-Pod with and without other hardware attached

  • Trying different USB ports and reconnection sequences

Based on these observations, it appears the M-Pod may be in a corrupted or non-communicating firmware/bootloader state.

Could you please advise on the following:

  1. Is there a forced recovery or low-level firmware tool available for the M-Pod?

  2. Are there specific steps to reinitialize communication between the StimTracker and M-Pod in this state?

  3. Is this indicative of a firmware mismatch or known issue with recent updates?

Please let me know if you need any additional details (firmware versions, serial numbers, etc.).

Thank you for the detailed troubleshooting. We’ve asked our engineer about it and he recommended replacing your unit. Someone from our office will be in touch with you shortly (if she hasn’t already).
