Lumina 3G ground loop

We have a (we believe ) ground loop issue that we can not solve.
Response pad (LS-Pair) signals to the Lumina 3G box are not received when the Lumina box is connected to our PC, via USB connection. The PC receieves no input (confirmed in keyboard mode) and Lumina response LEDs do not light.

If the Lumina unit is disconnected from the PC then the response LEDs work correctly.
If the Lumina unit is connected to a laptop then everything works correctly and expected - this is a solution, but it would be nice to fix the issue and use the permanent PC).

We have attempted a fix using a ground loop breaker (iDefender+ from SilentPower) however, we see no fix.

Lumina unit firmware is 2.2.9
Lumina unit and PC are connected to the same power strip.

Has anyone come across such an issue and can offer a solution?

Thank you.

A couple of troubleshooting questions:

  1. Are they using the Cedrus-provided power supply with the Lumina controller?

  2. If you disconnect the response pad from the Lumina controller, can the PC still communicate with Lumina ?

  3. Do the cables to the response pads go through a panel or something that connects to the ground signal of Lumina?

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, the issue was grounding of the response pads as they pass through the penetration panel.
Our GE engineer helped us to solve the problem by grounding the PC (and monitor) that we connect the Lumina controller to with the scanner console workstation.

Thanks.

Thank you for sharing how it was resolved.
