How to automatically rotate participant groups (counterbalancing) without manual selection?

Hello,

I am setting up an experiment in SuperLab where I need to counterbalance the order of blocks across participants.

I have manually created 6 different Participant Groups (Groups 1 to 6). In each group, I used the “Run only the following blocks” option to create a specific sequence/order of blocks for that condition. Attached the experiment

Currently, when I click “Run”, the experimenter is forced to manually select Group 1, 2, 3, etc., from a dropdown menu for each participant.

I would like SuperLab to do this automatically. Ideally, I want a “Pure Rotation” or “Random” assignment, so that when a new participant starts, SuperLab automatically assigns them to the next group (e.g., Participant 1 gets Group 1, Participant 2 gets Group 2…) without the experimenter having to select it manually.

How can I automate this group rotation in SuperLab?

Thank you in advance for your help!

In SuperLab 6, counterbalancing is possible use a SuperLab Cloud subscription. This feature will likely be added to SuperLab 7 later on.
