fine control of variable image locations

I want to run a variant of a flanker task. On each trial a randomly-chosen word will appear centered horizontally and vertically on the screen. I also need a small image to appear very close to the beginning of the word and very close to the end of the word. My problem is that my words vary in length from 3 to 11 letters, so I need to be able to determine image location based on the length of the word. Is this possible?

I’m using Superlab 4.5 on a Mac (10.6.something)

Presenting a word and two images simultaneously is possible within SuperLab. However, automatically determining image location based on the length is not.

Are you planning on using the stimulus list feature?

Yes we are.
