Can't Add Any Events

While the problem is similar to that of a thread entitled “Adding More Than One Event? SuperLab says No” a solution has already been suggested to that user so I’m starting this one. (You’re usually pretty good about getting back to someone in a timely manner.)

My problem: When trying to add multiple text events, the program would crash anywhere between event number 7 to event 13. I can’t use the list because I need text items from different lists for different trials. (In the future, a multiple list option would be fantastic.) So added my post to gentleman who was having a similar problem with picture stimuli. I mentioned that my problem didn’t begin until after installing 4.04 upgrade. The problem has gotten worse. Now, it crashes when I try to add even one text event. I’ve also noticed the same problem as Denise that the “save” icon is disappearing even when one has made changes to the experiment. I haven’t been able to send in a crash report yet due to an outdated version of Microsoft Outlook.

Someone else’s problem I copied from the old thread addressing this issue:

Same problem for trials, Posted 1 Day Ago Quote
I can’t add more than one trial (rather than event) at a time. I’m using version 4.0 for Windows. The program crashes and closes after I add more than one trial–and the “save” icon disappears also, so I have to pull down the “save as” option repeatedly."

Please send me your phone number via a private message. I’d really like to get to the bottom of this issue that you and Denise are having.

Meanwhile, I’m curious as to how you’d like to see a multiple list option working. Perhaps we can discuss this on the phone as well.

Hi,

We just discovered the cause on Friday. The crash is indeed due to a bug that was introduced with SuperLab 4.0.4. A note has just been posted on our web site that describes why it happens and how to work around it until a fix is available:

Sorry for the trouble that this has caused.
