SV-1 voice key: Unreliable

Hi there,

I am having some trouble with a SV-1 voice key being unreliable.

The voice key turns on, according to the Xidon programme is being detected by the computer (Windows 7), and lights up when receiving voice input from the microphone.

However, the data files (using Matlab) indicate no response is being recorded (and the computer beeps after each trial indicating the participant didn’t respond, even thou they did). Restarting the computer seems to fix the issue temporarily, but then the same issue occurs again.

We have been using to voice key for a month or so with no issues until about a week ago. What could be causing the voice key to be so temperamental?

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Laura.

If the voice key light turns on when receiving voice input from the microphone, then SV-1 is working reliably and the issue is on the software side. It is not possible for SV-1 to light up the LED light and not send that information out.

This narrows down the problem to the software side, which means that it is either an issue related to the USB driver or to the Matlab program.

Are you using the blue USB-serial port converter that we now include with SV-1?
