Receptive Attention Task

Afternoon guys, I’m looking to do a receptive attention task whereby participants need to focus their attention on something such as a passage from a book which needs to be on the screen throughout the experiment. Interspersed throughout will be various visual and auditory stimuli and it is the response time to these unexpected stimuli that I am interested in. I’ve been playing with superlab for a few days now and can’t seem to get this the way I want it. Is it even possible and if so can anyone lend some pointers?

Do any of the interspersed visual stimuli overlap the passage from the book?

yeah the visual stimuli will need to overlap the passage and the response cancels out the visual stimuli and the passage remains throughout.
