Question on Randomization Capabilities

Is Superlab 4.0 capable of doing the following -

I have 8 blocks that present various visual stimulus to participants.

Blocks 1 & 2 would always be shown first to participants.

Block 3, 5,and 7 are practice for the experimental blocks 4, 6, and 8, respectively.

I want to randomize the blocks but I need to always have the practice block shown before the experimental block.

So I’d like to have the blocks shown as 1, 2, 7, 8, 5, 6, 3, 4
or 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 3, 4. or any number of variations ?

Can SuperLab randomize the blocks but keep them in pairs?

Or would I have to set up the six different combinations and then randomly assign the particpants to one of the 6?

You cannot randomize blocks, but you can randomize trials within a block. Try using Participant Groups. This will work as a pseudo randomization, and it should accomplish what you are trying to do.
