Please could you clarify the compatibility of experiments saved with different versions of Superlab 4.
For example, will an experiment created in 4.0.4 be readable an fully functional if you try to load it on 4.0.3c?

The latest 4.x release can always read prior 4.x experiments. But the reverse is not usually true. So version 4.0.4 will be able to open experiments saved with 4.0.3, but if you save it, you will not be able to re-open it back in 4.0.3.
We do not do this on purpose. What happens is that with a new release, there is usually a new feature added here and there which requires that some information be saved to disk, and prior versions will not know how to read this new information.
