I’m programming an experiment in which the participants are able to freely decide when to make a key press, which can occur prior to, during, or after an auditory beep has occurred.
The beep only lasts for 100 ms, but if participants respond during that beep, their response is not recorded and the feedback that is supposed to occur does not happen. There is also a beep sound that resembles what would occur if a computer error has occurred, as if an input can not co-occur with the auditory stimulus.
Does anyone have any suggestions as per why I’m having this problem?
