  • SuperLab 4.5.1 Is Now Available

SuperLab 4.5.1 is a release that provides improvements and several bug fixes.

    Notes Before You Upgrade

We recommend that all users upgrade to version 4.5.1. However, please note the following before doing so:
    • You can open all experiments saved in SuperLab version 4.0 or later. Experiments saved in 4.5.1 can also be opened in 4.5, but not earlier versions.

    • One of the improvements affects the format of the data files slightly. It's something to be aware of if you are using Excel macros (or code) to process the data files; see below.

    • PowerPC-based Macs are no longer supported.

    • Windows 2000 is no longer supported. The minimum requirement is now Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

    Lion

SuperLab 4.5.1 has been tested with Apple's just-released Mac OS 10.7 Lion. It works well with Lion; we did not discover any incompatibilities.

    Obtaining Version 4.5.1

The latest version of SuperLab 4 can always be obtained from www.superlab.com/v4/downloadit.htm.

    Improvements

    - If you create a stimulus list and use the "Add Folder" option, SuperLab now saves the individual file names in the collected data file.

    - In the Event Editor's Stimulus tab, when the Show grid checkbox is enabled, SuperLab now shows labels for the grid lines.

    Bug Fixes

In addition to some visual fixes such as eliminating flicker, the following bugs have been fixed:

    - When two or more trial variables were used within the same trial, the trial variable levels were not saved correctly to the data file. Fixed.

    - The Self Paced Reading event type now honors the "erase screen at event end" option.

    - Transferring an experiment from Mac to Windows (or vice versa) no longer loses the text color.

    - If you create an event of type Movie but forget to specify the movie file, SuperLab no longer crashes when running the experiment.

    - SuperLab no longer ignores a variable time limit when the event is being presented as feedback.
