Reaction time recording

Hi Friends,

I am planning to carryout a few computer based experiments where it is required to record reaction time of the research subjects for visual stimulus. Please help me to identify a downloadable computer programme which I can readily adopt. If it is not possible, please guide me to develop the programme using Visual Basic 6. Replies are welcome.
